Successful aging starts with "playing" outside.
Come join us for this lively discussion,
and learn the benefits of being active in nature.
Professor Rosegard, a Homestead Valley resident, is Chair of the
Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism at San Francisco State University. His research interests include the social psychology of
leisure and the psychophysiolgy of play. Current Dr. Rosegard is
working with the Bay Area Health Parks Healthy People initiative and examining the restorative effects of "green exercise": play and nature.
Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes!
Plenty of time for questions and answers.
Socializing and refreshments as always.
Want a short easy walk?
Want to accompany a member on a short easy walk?
There are many great hiking trails in and around Homestead and Mill Valley, but not all of us have the time or energy for a multi-mile hike. We have created a list of short, level walks that are close to our community.
This can bring variety and fresh air to those who want an easy way to get outdoors!

Homestead Village and Mill Valley Village members share a movie group the third Monday afternoon of each month. The movie will be selected the Friday before, when schedules are available, and an email sent with time and location. If you would like to be notified each month, please contact Cathy Dunlap (415-388-2068 or firstname.lastname@example.org),
Remember, members may request a ride through the office.
We have joined with Mill Valley Village to offer two hiking groups
at different levels of effort.
One is a 4-5 hour moderate to strenuous group on Fridays from 9:30 amto 2:30 pm on the wonderful trails of Marin County, with a 45-60 minute lunch break. Call Marcus Byruck at 617-763-1697 to get particulars of hike locations and times, or email him at email@example.com.
The second is a less vigorous walk on relatively flat terrain for 2-4 miles on the third Wednesday of the month from 10:00 am to noon. Please contact Karen Robbins for information: 415-519-3420 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Also let her know if you would like to be on an email notification list about upcoming walks.
Walking is a great way to get some good healthy exercise
and meet new neighbors!
