Let’s Go…

We know that many of our members and volunteers enjoy attending music performances, theater, lectures, etc.  If someone suggests, Let’s Go… San Rafael Village now offers a way for this to happen.

We have begun a list of SRV members and volunteers interested in attending events in our

of interest, it is shared with all the others on the list. Then, when you come across an event, such as a concert that you would like to attend, you can contact those on the list with similar interests. The arrangements are made between the individuals.

An example of how this works is as follows: SRV member Carole Sherick read about an event sponsored by Homestead Valley Village. It was a musical presentation about Beethoven. Carole was interested and send an email to three SRV members she thought would enjoy it. This resulted in four villagers spending a delightful afternoon and early evening together at an event they might not have known about or chosen not to go alone.

If you’d like to be included on the Let’s Go list, or have any questions, contact Carole Sherick at or 415-479-0930

First Wednesday Coffees

Since its beginning, San Rafael Village has had a monthly coffee. It started out in the morning and has now switched to the afternoons. We are meeting in members or volunteers homes, which is very popular.  The coffees offer an opportunity to connect with Village friends and neighbors, get to know each other better and hear a bit about what’s going on in the SRV. Or just chat…

Everyone has enjoyed meeting in villagers’ homes, but it sometimes isn’t easy to find a location.

If you think there is a possibility that you could host a coffee, please contact Joy Bloom at She can explain how EASY it is.  We have put together a box of “coffee hosting” supplies, so all you need to do is supply your house!

If you are not able to offer your home, consider bringing a treat to share at the coffee.
