WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND TOWN?

November 5 & 6, 2016 – Novato Arts Center Open Studios  - 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

 

Open Studios provides a great opportunity to see work from local artists, whether you’re looking to purchase a piece for your home or just experience the work in its natural environment. Many Marin artists call the Novato Arts Center home, with over 50 studios on site. With the holidays coming up, the Open Studios weekend offers a chance to pick up a truly unique gift for someone special (even if the person in question is you!) Admission is free. Novato Arts Center, 500 Palm Dr., Novato.

 

November 12, 2016 - Lite Home Maintenance for Novato Seniors - 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 

The Novato Rotary Home Team is offering this free service to Novato seniors and people with disabilities.  (Note: restrictions apply if you are a renter.) Teams of Rotarians will replace light bulbs, install new CO2/smoke detectors, replace batteries in smoke alarms, unclog most drains, fix leaky faucets, silence squeaky doors, reset blown fuses, and perform other small repairs right in your home.

November 30, 2016 – Safety in the Home – 10:00 a.m-11:00a.m.

 

This workshop will offer a number of topics that could save your life, including cooking safety, fall prevention and how to create a plan for yourself and paramedics in case of emergency.  The class is free and will be held at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Rd., Novato.  Sponsored by the Novato Independent Elders Program.  Call 415-899-8290 to register.
